This dough is rolled out and used cookie cutters for shapes. Etc. It can be painted and used for Christmas tree decorations.
The below is from gigglemoose and it worked well for us, but I want to tell about a prescription for the mass that we've changed to and it is much nicer anyway or different from the mass of salt. Canela buy cheaper mass and bulk Cinnamom appleasuce can find. Empty the jar of applesauce in a large bag with a zipper and start adding Cinnamom dust, collected over the bag. You can add cinnamon until a paste consistency nice that you can roll out. I roll the dough on parchment paper and sprinkle with cinnamon if you should get too sticky. Cut forms as you would salt dough and dry overnight or if you would dry faster than placed in the oven at 300 degrees for about 1 / 2 hours. You will able to look at them and say when they are dry. Then decorate. We have some ornaments that are 5 years old and they smell heavenly every Christmas, when I open the box of decorations. Ingredients mass of salt 4 cups flour 1 cup salt 1-1/2 cups hot water (tap) 2 teaspoons vegetable oil (optional) Mix flour and salt together, then gradually add water until dough becomes elastic. (Some recipes call for 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil at this point.) If the mixture is too sticky, add more flour. If It is too crumbly, simply add more water. Knead the dough until it is a good consistency, then exit rollers, cups, bowls, straws, cookie cutters, plastic utensils, and let the fun begin! If you want colored dough, food coloring, powdered drink mix, or paint into the water before adding to the dry ingredients. Or you can paint your creations after baking them at 200 degrees. Cooking times vary depending on the size and thickness the object, but make sure that all this is hard. If the dough starts to darken before cooking is complete, cover with foil. Painted memories must be sealed on all sides with clear varnish or polyurethane spray. You can store salt dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator, but usually no more a couple of days.
